El cigarrillo electrónico como un problema emergente de salud pública en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes

Objetivo: Evaluar el impacto del uso de cigarrillos electrónico en la salud de los adolescentes y jóvenes para una comprensión integral de los factores de riesgos y sus consecuencias asociadas. Método: búsqueda en bases de datos como Pubmed, ScienceDirect y SciElo, publicados desde el año 2020, obteniéndose 14 estudios luego del cribado. Resultados: El uso del cigarrillo electrónico es muy frecuente y no es efectivo para que adolescente y jóvenes dejen de fumar, sino que facilita su evolución hacia el tabaquismo. Conclusiones: Los adolescentes y jóvenes desconocen los riesgos para la salud asociados al uso de cigarrillos electrónicos y su percepción errónea de que son menos dañinos favorece su popularidad. Haciéndose crucial la implementación de programas educativos en las escuelas para corregir estas percepciones.
