Aplicación del láser en la expansión maxilar: beneficios y consideraciones clínicas. Revisión de literatura

Resumen

Objetivo: Indagar acerca de la aplicación del láser en la expansión maxilar, abordando los beneficios y sus consideraciones clínicas. Método: Revisión de la literatura, que se llevó a cabo mediante una búsqueda en diversas bases de datos electrónicas, incluyendo PubMed, Lilacs ProQuest y Pesquisa. Se utilizaron como palabras clave: láser, terapia láser, terapia de luz de baja intensidad o fototerapia láser, expansión maxilar, remodelación ósea y ortodoncia. La búsqueda se limitó a artículos publicados entre 2015 y 2025 en idiomas inglés, español y portugués. Resultados y conclusiones: Se identificaron 833 artículos en total. Luego de un análisis exhaustivo, se excluyeron aquellos que no cumplían con los criterios de inclusión, quedando un total de 41 artículos para la revisión. En conclusión, el láser ha demostrado ser una herramienta prometedora en la expansión maxilar, ofreciendo beneficios potenciales como una mejor respuesta ósea y una recuperación más rápida.
