Objective: To explore the relationship between temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and vertigo due to their anatomical and functional connection. Method: A systematic review of the literature was carried out in databases such as PubMed and Scopus, applying rigorous inclusion criteria. Of 362 studies identified, 21 relevant ones were analyzed. Results: The results suggest the existence of anatomical links between TMDs and vertigo, although the scientific evidence is insufficient to establish a conclusive relationship. Conclusions: The interaction between TMDs and vertigo is complex and still needs further investigation. Multidisciplinary studies addressing anatomical, physiological and social variables are recommended to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these comorbidities.
