Impact of WhatsApp on the virtual learning process of students

This study examines the impact of WhatsApp use on the learning process of university students. The main objective was to analyze how this instant messaging platform influences communication, collaboration and knowledge acquisition in a higher educational environment. It was carried out under a descriptive quantitative approach with a sample of 80 university students from various disciplines. Data were collected through structured questionnaires that assessed the frequency and nature of WhatsApp use for educational purposes, as well as students' perception of its impact on learning. The results revealed that 90% of students use WhatsApp as a complementary tool to discuss topics related to their courses, share educational resources and form study groups. Therefore, it was concluded that this tool has a significant impact in the university educational environment.
