The general objective of this research was to describe master's studies as a strategy for strengthening university education. It was developed from the quantitative paradigm, also framed from a documentary-bibliographic design, through the inquiry, collection and critical documentary analysis and bibliographic reference, based on the methodical, rigorous and deep exploration of various documentary sources such as scientific research, articles and refereed papers, laws, texts, among others. Describing the findings found, allowing to develop the theoretical body in relation to the subject of study and generate knowledge. It is concluded that, the master's studies within the postgraduate training programs constitute strategies for strengthening university education, for the benefit of professionals and the nation, in addition, it provides higher education institutions to guarantee their consolidation at national and international level and to compete among universities through knowledge management, encouraging research and participation.
