Emotional skills for strengthening school performance

The general objective of the research was to propose a theoretical model on emotional competencies to strengthen school performance. It was framed in a non-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 191 subjects from 4 educational institutions of the Municipality of Baranoa, Atlántico, Colombia; distributed as follows: 25 teachers and 136 10th grade students. Inferential statistics were used, specifically the analysis of variance ANOVA of a factor of alternatives chosen by the subjects. A model of emotional competencies for school performance (CERE) was generated. It is concluded that it is pertinent; In addition to cognitive development, the acquisition of knowledge through emotional education that contributes to being aware of emotions causing positive effects.
