Legislation and protection of the rights of LGTBI persons in Ecuador: A comprehensive analysis

The general objective of the research was to analyze the legislation and protection of the rights of LGTBI persons in Ecuador: An Integral analysis. The method used in the research was based on the qualitative approach, managing the collection and analysis of a documentary-bibliographic typology. The research technique applied was the interview; the tool or instrument that supported it was the interview guide; which was applied in depth with key participants, such as LGTBI activists, or representatives of LGTBI organizations. The interviews allowed us to explore specific topics and obtain detailed information about their perspectives on Ecuadorian legislation on rights and guarantees. It is concluded that, although Ecuador has legislation that recognizes and protects the rights of LGTBI persons, there are still significant obstacles that limit its full effectiveness.
