Mining activity and the impact on the wellbeing of the inhabitants of Cantón Las Naves, Bolívar, Ecuador

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the mining activity and its impact on the wellbeing of the inhabitants of Cantón Las Naves, Bolívar, Ecuador. The researchers used the quantitative approach as a method, through exploration, collection and critical analysis by means of a documentary typology, supported by a bibliographic design that seeks reflection and analysis, constructing methods related to the judgment of the phenomenon. In addition, a survey was applied to a sample of 95 people in the "El Domo" sector of the Las Naves canton, Bolivar province, where mining activities are carried out. It is concluded that the relationship between the company Curimining SA and the inhabitants of several sectors of the province of Bolivar have not been harmonious, in fact, in the case of the sector of Las Naves, since the beginning of the exploitation there have been serious events that have even caused the loss of material goods.
