Domestic violence: A public safety problem

The general objective of this research was to legally analyze domestic violence: A problem of citizen security. The method used was quantitative, since, from the documentary-bibliographic support. In the research, the documentary-bibliographic review was used as a technique, in this sense, the documentary research is a process based on the inquiry, recovery, examination, criticism and interpretation of secondary data, (Arias, 2012) which allows obtaining valuable information to frame the events. Analyzing laws, norms, theses, scientific articles, among others. It is concluded that, thanks to the Constitution of Ecuador, Ecuadorian citizenship is recognized, protected and guaranteed and in this way should be the result of a policy that is oriented towards a comprehensive strategy, it has been evidenced that the rates of violence and lack of citizen security affects all social sectors. Domestic violence is a problem of citizen security.
