Selection of Sports Talents in the Basketball of the Province of Azuay

The objective of this study was to determine which are the methods in the process of searching and selecting sports talents at the national level, through a questionnaire adapted to our context in order to provide scientific data for future studies. It was based on a descriptive work, the sample was composed of 103 trainers, for the statistical calculation the SPSS 25 statistical package was used, the frequencies, means, and percentages were determined, in addition to the reliability analysis. The main results were that the most used method in eleven provinces of Ecuador is the training or sports development method, the province of Azuay presented a greater number of coaches with 39%, followed by the province of Cañar with 12%, Pichincha and Morona Santiago presented 11%, being the provinces with the greatest relevance, while the rest of the provinces present minimum values.
