Women's self-determination, sovereignty and personal freedom in the face of abortion

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the self-determination, sovereignty and personal freedom of women with regard to abortion. The quantitative method was used, which produces descriptive data, originating from data collection. It was supported by the documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. To conclude, it is necessary to take into account that even when there are several rights at stake, such as the life of the unborn child, the rights to autonomy of women must be considered, because to punish this conduct without considering that the penalty has repercussions on women without considering that this is directly linked to the right to personal integrity in its different spheres in favor of women is an act that does not fit in Ecuadorian legislation in a State that guarantees rights.
