Identity theft in the metaverse and infringement of personal image in Ecuador

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze identity theft in the metaverse and violation of personal image in Ecuador. It was developed from the positivist paradigm, from a quantitative perspective, supported by a documentary-bibliographic research. For the development of the theoretical body, a critical analysis of norms, laws, conventions, refereed articles, among others, is carried out, which contributes to the argumentation and elaboration of the respective conclusions. It is concluded that, digital identity theft in Ecuador is determined in the COIP as identity theft, such action is evident the imminent damage it causes to the image of a person, so much so that indirectly, it can also violate the good name, honor and violates the constitutional guarantee. In addition, it is a stealthy crime and is becoming known, as the technological era evolves.
