The objective of the present study was to implement an exercise plan to improve the explosive strength of the lower body in the players of the Azuay University rugby team, the study assumed a quantitative approach of a descriptive type with a non-experimental design with a longitudinal cut, it was taken as sample 20 male players between the ages of 18 and 25 using non-probabilistic convenience sampling. After that, an exercise program was applied for the improvement of explosive strength, whose duration was 12 weeks, as a result, a considerable improvement in the explosive strength of university rugby players was evidenced.
