Incorporating an intercultural approach into municipal public policies in the amazon region

The main objective of this research was to analyze the incorporation of the intercultural approach into municipal public policies in the Amazon region. The study employed a quantitative and documentary methodology. The PRISMA approach was used to examine 15 carefully selected academic articles, primarily from Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, and Colombia, published between 2021 and 2026. A literature review was used as the research technique, and document analysis forms and result systematization matrices were used as instruments. The results revealed that the integration of the intercultural approach into public policies has increased the relevance, acceptance, and sustainability of the services offered, especially in health, education, and justice. It was concluded that the active participation of indigenous peoples, institutional capacity-building, and cultural adaptation have been essential for achieving effective policies and reducing inequalities.
