Abstract

The study presented aimed to analyze school social interaction in elementary education and the role of physical education within a theoretical framework in Colombia. The study employed a qualitative, documentary approach, considering systematic review and content analysis techniques. The instruments used included data sheets and analysis matrices. Additionally, the PRISMA statement was used as a means for the exhaustive selection of studies derived from Scielo, Scopus, and Web of Science. This led to highlighting, as a result, the benefits offered by physical activities in outdoor spaces, the role of the teacher as a mediator, playfulness, and cooperation that have favored student performance. In conclusion, it was noted that school life, viewed from a general perspective, has linked learning with other areas of study, as it has provided physical and mental well-being for students in basic education.
