Impact of continuing hospital training on medical knowledge about patient rights

The present research aimed to analyze the impact of hospital-based continuing education on medical knowledge about patient rights. The study was conducted with a non-experimental, correlational design at a specialty hospital in the city of Cuenca, where the subjects were healthcare professionals. The results obtained after administering a questionnaire to medical professionals indicated that the majority reported understanding of patient rights, while a minority indicated limited understanding and lack of knowledge. Regarding the proper use of medical technology, a smaller percentage agreed, and half remained neutral. In conclusion, the results show that ongoing training significantly improves understanding of ethical principles and strengthens professional practice, promoting more responsible and respectful healthcare services.
