Continuous training strategy to optimize care at the Ecuadorian Red Cross

This research aimed to design an ongoing training strategy to optimize care at the Ecuadorian Red Cross. The research was cross-sectional, using surveys administered to staff and patients, complemented by a literature review and the design of a continuing professional development strategy. The results indicate that more frequent training aligned with staff needs improves telephone counseling and guidance in emergency departments; operational obstacles were identified, such as long wait times, limited hours, and lack of immediate response. It is concluded that the effectiveness of training depends less on theoretical content and more on its transformation into standardized micro-practices, supported by clear governance and metrics. The findings reveal a coherent mechanism through which the frequency and relevance of training, combined with systematic evaluation of changes, act as levers that amplify clinical behaviors.
