Abstract

The objective of the study was to analyze users' perceptions of its application at the Camilo Ponce Enríquez Technical Office 01D07 during 2025. A mixed, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted with a probabilistic sample of 226 patients. An adapted version of the QuIC-PT questionnaire was used, and five interviews were conducted with healthcare professionals. The results reflected a mostly favorable perception: users valued the clarity of the information, the prior explanation, and the possibility of choice. Satisfaction was associated with the availability of time and active participation. It is concluded that informed consent improves when effective communication, sufficient time, and adequate record-keeping are guaranteed. Similarly, informed consent in emergency departments is essential to safeguard patient autonomy through clear, timely, and understandable information; it is recommended to simplify formats and strengthen the communication skills of healthcare personnel.
