Solid waste management and environmental contamination in the urban sector

Abstract

The objective is to analyze the relationship between municipal waste management and environmental pollution. The research work made an interpretative analysis in the search for information, the number of articles included in the assessment for this research work is 15 scientific articles. The search for these research was made in the scientific databases: Scopus, Web of Science, Scielo, EBSCO Host and Google Scholar. The relationship between solid waste management and environmental pollution is based on the degree of impact resulting from the omission of an environmental management plan. Depending on the focus of the plan, there are better results in mitigating and controlling pollution; on the other hand, if there is no good monitoring, pollution will continue to increase.
