Abstract

The purpose of this research was to interpret university research skills and the role of artificial intelligence. A study was conducted with a qualitative, documentary approach, using a hermeneutic method. A questionnaire with semi-structured questions was applied to 40 experts in the field. For the documentary analysis, data triangulation was used, as well as the Atlas ti 9 software and, as a complement, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) of OpenAI. The results show that the integration of AI in scientific research opens new opportunities in the analysis process; furthermore, the combination of AI and human interpretation is key to maximize research potential, generate new theories, strengthen the synthesis process and establish solid conclusions. Finally, it was concluded that research skills are fundamental in all disciplines and educational levels, because their early development fosters an investigative culture.
