Abstract

The use of active methodologies to teach and learn takes center stage in today's world since they differ from the traditional and highlight the role of the student in their learning process. The study of quantitative approach, experimental, descriptive type, quasi-experimental design. The data collected through a test applied to 60 intentionally selected second-year secondary school students, with whom two groups were formed: an experimental group and a control group, demonstrated that the application of the program through the PBL strategy positively influenced the development of critical thinking in students in the second grade of secondary education. Both the experimental and control groups were evaluated before and after the intervention and the results processed by statistical methods, for which the asymmetry coefficient, Kurtosis and Cohen were used.
