Abstract

This research has an educational purpose in which motivating strategies such as role play are implemented to improve and encourage reading habits for better academic development of students in the different stages of the teaching-learning process, knowing that the Reading practice is a good ally to develop skills in different areas of knowledge for children, youth and adults. It was of an explanatory type with a non-experimental design, generating a calculation of means to compare the significant changes in the groups involved, by means of a T test for independent samples. An active teaching methodology provides better learning conditions, because with the role play compared to a traditional methodology, the former provides greater significance, as well as the participation of the students is free, spontaneous, that is, the students the main actors of their own learning return.
