Abstract

The research aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking and academic self-concept in students of the international business school of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos - Peru. A descriptive correlational type was adopted with a non-experimental design. It is stated that there is a highly significant relationship between critical thinking and academic self-concept, since the significance value is less than 1%. It is concluded that we can also call critical thinking the ability of thought to examine and evaluate itself and one's own thinking or that of others. The capacity for critical thinking arises from metacognition. The growth, efficiency and creativity of thought is in its capacity for continuous self-examination, self-criticism, self-control, which provides its critical capacity from metacognition.
