Academic performance of students in public and private educational institutions

Abstract

This research focuses on publicizing the academic performance of students from public institutions and students from private institutions. To carry out this research, a group of students from a public institution in the Zaruma canton was selected. The research is cross-sectional with quantitative data collected through a survey, to know the factors that influence inequality in the academic performance of students, considering teachers as a key piece for the educational process to be adequate. The analysis of the data that shows an educational reality in public institutions reflected in teachers not trained in the subjects they teach, who do not seek to update their knowledge, which creates mistrust in students, by not providing an adequate process of diagnosis, leveling and training, develops students with little knowledge, without autonomy and with very little interest in their education.
