Socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises

The COVID-19 crisis will cause the unemployment of 12 million people in Latin America, consequently 15.9 million will be in deprived conditions and 28.7 million people in extreme poverty. The investigative work that is presented, aims to know the socioeconomic impact that COVID-19 has generated in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MIPYMES) in the province of Loja, in the different economic sectors. For this, a descriptive type investigation was used, applying surveys to the managers of the MYPIMES in order to obtain a data that indicates the socio-economic factors that directly affect the normal productive development. The social factors affected may increase the number of families living in poverty and extreme poverty, generating greater vulnerability, hence the study is of real importance for making decisions that contribute to better performance and sustainability of MIPYMES.
