Social rehabilitation and crisis in the Ecuadorian penitentiary system

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the social rehabilitation and crisis in the Ecuadorian penitentiary system. The quantitative method was used, which produces descriptive data, originating from data collection. It was supported by the documentary-bibliographic review. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was used. The analytical-synthetic method was also used. It is concluded that the penitentiary crisis has been evidenced that it is not a recent issue, but rather, as the years have gone by, it has been an issue that has gained more depth and seriousness; since the policies that have been established have only been to put a patch on the deepest problem such as the rehabilitation of those deprived of liberty.
