The principle of objectivity in the assessment of the testimony of apprehending officers

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the principle of objectivity in the evaluation of testimonies of apprehending agents. The present research used the quantitative method which produces descriptive data, originating from data collection. Supported by the documentary-bibliographic review. Together, the inductive-deductive method was applied. The analytical-synthetic method was also proposed. It is concluded that the incorrect application of the principle of objectivity may lead to the violation of more principles and even the due process guaranteed by the Ecuadorian Constitution, which is clearly evidenced in this research and it is necessary to seek mechanisms to guarantee the constitutional rights and those established in international treaties.
