Double vulnerability of the rights of children and adolescents with catastrophic illnesses

The general objective of this research was to legally analyze the double vulnerability of the rights of children and adolescents with catastrophic diseases. The methodology was developed from the quantitative approach, through the search, collection and critical analysis of documents, bibliographic references and studies or research projects, from the interpretation of the law. In addition, a survey was applied, whose population consisted of children and adolescents who are affected by the vulnerability of rights in the canton of Quevedo. Fifty children were selected as samples. It is concluded that, in the public service, any type of discrimination, whether direct or indirect, which aims to treat a person with a disability in a different and less favorable way, is prohibited. At present, it has been witnessed that it is not fully complied with in several services so that there is no discrimination.
