Penalties established in the Ecuadorian Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code for the crime of hired assassination

Abstract

The general objective of this research was to legally analyze the sanctions established in the Ecuadorian Organic Integral Penal Code for the crime of contract killing. The methodology was developed from the quantitative approach, through the search and critical documentary analysis, bibliographic reference and studies or research projects, from the interpretation of law in this sense, many of the objects with which legal science works. Supported, from a bibliographic design of documentary type, whose inquiry from the critical reflection, the method of analysis of the phenomenon of study was built, considering laws, norms, agreements, international treaties, which led to the obtaining of relevant information and the construction of the theoretical fabric. It is concluded that the crime of hired assassination and the granting of punishment for the perpetrators should be a greater penalty for both the executor and the mastermind, it is essential to ensure legal certainty.
