Abstract

The general objective of the research was to carry out a legal analysis of the conservation of the soil component of the protective forest of Los Cedros, Imbabura, Ecuador. The method used in the research was based on the qualitative approach, using the collection and analysis of a documentary-bibliographic typology. The technique developed was the interview; the tool or instrument that supported the interview guide; applied to 3 people who live in the Llurimagua sector to obtain different opinions on the subject. An analytical-reflexive process was generated. It is concluded that the access to information by citizens, as they are unaware of their rights as citizens protected by the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and the Environmental Code, access to an environmental consultation, relevant to mining extraction projects, lack of information and participation in projects on environmental issues and mining exploitation, and how the environmental consultation should be carried out.
