Incidence of the use of controlled substances for robbery among adolescents.

The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the incidence of the consumption of controlled substances for theft among adolescents. The method used in the research was based on the qualitative approach, handling the collection and analysis of a documentary-bibliographic typology. The technique applied was the interview; the tool or instrument used was the interview guide, which was applied to police officers of the National Directorate of Specialized Police for Children and Adolescents (DINAPEN) and inhabitants of San Cristóbal-Galápagos Island. An analytical-reflective process was generated. It is concluded that the consumption of controlled substances by adolescents has had a direct impact on the increase of robberies in San Cristóbal, Galapagos, as adolescents become dependent on these substances and find themselves without money to buy them.
