View of The objective of the article is to present a review of the comprehensive care offered to the elderly from the Venezuelan institutional-legal framework, which has allowed to configure a series of phases through which public policies have gone through: social security, social assistance , health, as ways to offer comprehensive care to seniors. This construction has become a contribution to gerontological science as a science destined to the study of the aging process and old age; as well as for the career of gerontology when identifying, from the vision of the atoras, key elements that have influenced the attention of the elderly in Venezuela.
